The properly selected electromagnet/solenoid for a certain application usually is the smallest-dimensioned one that provides sufficient magnetic force.
The magnetic force „FM" (in newton) is the utilizable mechanical force of the magnet generated in the direction of stroke, deducted by the frictional component. It is measured at 90% of the nominal voltage Un at warm operating condition.
